Game Tier List

GameTierList publishes a game tier list for each new gacha game in the first days after launch. Each ranking combines several established strategy sites, shows where they disagree, and is re-checked after every new character or balance patch.

How our game tier list rankings work

A tier list is only useful if you can trust it. In the first week of a new gacha game, rankings change fast and different sites often disagree. Instead of adding one more opinion, we build each ranking from the rankings that experienced players already rely on, and we are open about how we combine them.

We start from several expert rankings

For every game we collect at least 3 independent rankings from established strategy sites. Most new gacha games launch in Japan or China first, so the earliest serious rankings usually come from long-running Japanese guide sites. We only count sources that rate the same thing: the same server, the same version and the same goal, such as general play with characters at zero duplicates. A reroll ranking and an endgame ranking answer different questions, so we never mix them in one list.

The middle rating wins

Each character gets the middle rating of all the sources. With three sources, that is simply the majority view. One unusually high or low rating cannot move a character on its own, which keeps the list steady when a single site over-reacts to a new release.

Disagreements stay visible

When the sources are two or more tiers apart on a character, we mark that character on the list. Open its note and you will see each site's rating and the reason they differ, for example a support that one site values for team buffs and another marks down for low damage. You can then decide which view matches how you play.

Reasons in our own words

Every character on a tier list comes with two or three short reasons based on official skill data: what the character does, which numbers matter and which teams bring out their strength. We only quote a value when at least two sources report the same number.

What each tier means

All of our tier lists use the same six-step scale, so a rating means the same thing from one game to the next.

Tiers rate characters at zero duplicates unless a page says otherwise. A character with several duplicates or their best weapon can play above their tier, and a lower-tier favourite is still worth using if you enjoy them.

When each game tier list is updated

Rankings age quickly in gacha games. A new limited character, a balance patch or a new game mode can change who is worth building. We re-check each list after every new character banner and every balance patch, and the page shows the date it was last checked next to the title. If a ranking looks out of date to you, the link under each tier list lets you tell us.

Make your own tier list

Every tier list page ends with a free tier list maker. It starts from our current ranking with each character's portrait, so you only need to move the characters you rate differently. Drag them between tiers, or tap a character and then a tier on your phone. When you are done, save the list as a PNG image or copy a link that opens your exact list. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded or stored on our side.

How to use a tier list in a new gacha game

A tier list is a starting point, not a rulebook. These are the three decisions it helps with most in the first week of a new game.

Rerolling

If the game lets you reroll, aim for one SS character, ideally a limited one that will not come back soon. Each tier list page has a reroll section that names the best target and the best picks from any free re-pull. Do not spend hours chasing two top characters; the gap between one and two is smaller than the time it costs.

Spending your first pulls

Early premium currency is scarce. Pulling on the banner of a high-tier limited character is usually better value than spreading pulls over standard banners. Supports that fit almost every team are a safer pull than attackers who need a specific team around them.

Levelling and upgrade materials

Put upgrade materials into one team of your strongest characters before spreading them out. Use the team suggestions on each page as a guide, and swap in a lower-tier character you own when they fill the same role. A fully built A tier character often beats an SS character who is still level one.

Which games get a tier list

We focus on new gacha games with a character roster, where the first days decide how good your account will be: what to reroll for, which banner to pull on and who to level first. A game gets a tier list once enough expert rankings exist to compare. Competitive games and popular Roblox experiences are next on our list. If a game you play is missing, email us its name and we will look at it when we plan the next tier lists.

Game tier list FAQ

What is a game tier list?

A game tier list sorts the characters of a game into ranked groups, from the best (SS) down to the weakest (D). It answers the two questions new players ask most: who to reroll for at the start, and who to spend limited resources on.

How are your rankings different from other tier lists?

Most tier lists are one writer's opinion. Ours combines at least 3 established strategy sites rating the same thing, takes the middle rating for each character, and shows where those sites disagree instead of hiding it. Every page also shows the date the ranking was last checked.

How soon after a game launches do you publish a tier list?

Usually within the first few days. That is when players are rerolling and deciding who to build, so a reliable ranking matters most. We publish once enough expert rankings exist to compare.

How often are the tier lists updated?

We re-check a game tier list after every new character banner and every balance patch. The checked date at the top of each page tells you how current it is.

Are the tier lists free?

Yes. Every tier list and the tier list maker are free to use, with no account or sign-up. The site is supported by advertising.

Can I make my own tier list?

Yes. Every tier list page has a free tier list maker at the bottom. It starts from our ranking; drag characters between tiers, then save a PNG or copy a link to share. Nothing is uploaded or stored.
